More crawfish...

Stopped by my favorite noodle restuarant (Kim Ky Noodle House) in San Gabriel and saw this sign. Gotta try it out and compare it to the Boiling Crab down in Santa Ana area.

Crawfish at the Boiling Crab

OK, the picture from my Treo phone doesn't look too good and unfortunately, we were too excited to dig in and eat rather than take pictures at the beginning of the meal. But wow...the crawfish at the Boiling Crab in Santa Ana was soo good. If you go, get the cajun flavor in mild. Believe me...even if you like your food spicy...the mild flavor was just perfect. If you guys ever want to check the place out...it's on the NE corner of Brookhurst and Westminister. In the same plaza as Banh Mi Che Cali and Century TV. Next time, I'll try to get better pictures of the feast before we all dig in. :)

Are these spicy enough for you?

You see what I mean by being a sucker for spicy food? This was the restuarant in SF that Ham and I ended up going to in the post below. The dishes that has a little chilie icon next to it in the menu, I would always end up ordering.

This broth makes your tongue tingle after eating it for a while

Do you think there is enough chillies in this deep fried chicken wing dish?

As some of you may know, I fly up to the bay area every other week to take care of the office in Pleasanton. A few months ago, I flew up and Ham and I decided to head into the city to find some good food and practice taking pictures at night. This was probably at the start of my moBlog so I don't think I ever posted some of the pictures up. We stayed up till 3AM taking random pictures and practicing. It was fun. Then we got lost trying to make our way back home...ending up taking the long way and ending up on Castrol street. Well, that's no place for two males who are heterosexual to be seen. LOL

Here's a cool shot Ham took of me taking a shot of the bridge above. We were practicing using his camera to trigger my flash with the Fong Dong on top

If you guys have been to this spot, you'll recognize this statue. Ham did a good job of making it seem like I was a part of it

Highslide JS
We dropped by the nearby town of Sasualito. Ham was experimenting with long exposure, catching the tailight of a passing car

Up on the westside of the bridge...we were trying to play with light and also get a good exposure of the city skyline

Sunday's Bike Ride and Basketball

This past Sunday, we had a few new friends join us for our mountain bike ride. We had probably the biggest group ever this time. Andy, Denny, Florence and Phong, George and Juliette, Kan, Keo, Lee, Monica, Toma and myself made it out to tackle north Lake Hodges trail again. The day was initally windy but it settled down somewhat and became really beautiful and nice out. Gotta love San Diego in the winter. It has been a month since we all had time to get together for our weekly ride so it was nice to get such a large turnout.

This is Kan, Denny and Lee's cousin's wife's sister(?) or 2nd cousin twice removed. I met Kan when her sister was in SD on vacation with her husband and two boys. The boys took them out fishing and when they brought the fresh fish back, Julie and I were naturally there to clean and make a nice dinner out of it. Fun, fun!

After the bike ride, we stopped by my house where Julie cooked up a big pot of tasty vietnamese curry. It's like burger king, you can have it your way... with either rice, noodles or bread. Andy brought over his Wii so we made sure to get a few games of that in. Once everyone replenished their energy, we decide to head down to the park for some tennis and basketball.

Is this a foul? ;) There was a lot of this going on

The second basketball game started off nice. My team, which consist of Lee, Monica and George, took off with a 6-1 lead. At the opening, I took it to the basket with a quick 360 under the basket no look finger roll past three menacing defenders. (hey, it's my story...I can tell it how I want to) It all started out nice and fun...but you know how it is...it's all fun and game until someone gets hurt. A little into the game, my shoulder pops out and back in. But it's ok as it went in right away so I am ok...still got full strength in the arm. Well, the bad occurred when I had to step up my game to adequately guard Denny. Denny with his knees reconstructed a year ago was more agile than before. That required me to step it up a notch like Emeril would say. Well, that notch broke me as my shoulder separated for the second time that day. Worst dislocation I had as I was not able to pop it back in until a few hours later. What pain!

I think for next time, I will just bandage up the bad arm to my body and I will play with one arm. You know how in old movies, the samurai with the one arm or the blind martial arts masters are the ones who kicks ass? Well, perhaps with one arm, my game will be taken up to the next level. hahahahaha

Lots of ppl at Oakland airport

Upon arriving to the airport today to fly back to San Diego, I learn that someone had breached airport security so they had to evacuate everyone and then close down the airport for two hours while they check everything out. So you can imagine how backed up the airport was once it was reopened. The sucky thing is, nobody knew when that may be. People who had connecting flights missed their flight at the next leg of the trip. You can hear people on their cell phone trying to see if there are any later flight out for the next leg of their trip. It was a mess. The line to get through the security gates were really long...however the airport staff did a great job of moving it along.

Malaysian Spicy Chow Fun

This dish from Tri-Valley restuarant in Pleasanton sucks. Barely eaten...i need to order something else to satisfy my hunger.

***Update: So, it was barely eaten and I flag someone down to get me a menu so I could order something else. The person that came with the menu was the manager. He saw that the food was barely eaten so he asked me if I would like something else...he'll have it made for me. I was taken back by the offer. He went on to suggest a few different dished that I can try and I finally settled on a beef noodle soup. Well, what finally came out was a beef chow fun, but at least it was better than the Malaysian Spicy Chow Fun I had initally. I am suck a sucker for the work spicy in the title of most dishes. I am always tempted to order that dish first at a new restuarant. The food might be nasty, but at least the service was good here.
