Some images from yesterday's outing with Tee and Krystal...

Yesterday was fun. We played some tennis in the morning, went to go eat Pho at Pho Hoa Cali in Rancho Bernardo afterwards. Tee and Krystal were in town, and Tee brought his dSLR...so went back to Cabrillo and took in the sunset, capturing a few pictures there and then some more in Coronado in the evening.

I love the expression of the two cousins here. The seagull was a cool capture against the creamy sky.237540660

Monica here recreating the Karate Kid. The seagull in the background was recreating Monica's silliness.237540679

Julie enjoying the setting sun. She commented that though the picture looks warm, she was freezing.237540638

American flag flying above Cabrillo monument. Love the magenta cast skies.237540742

I like the color and mood of this one of Krystal reaching back for Tee.237540777

Crimson setting sun. I love the way the trees and hillside is silhouetted against the sky.237540758

Denny had Monica stand by the tree to get illuminated by the tree light. Good use of existing light to create a different image. My camera was custom white balanced with a whibal card to remove most of the tungsten orange cast from the picture.237540824

Toys...learning while playing...

Kids' toys are so much fun nowadays. I can't wait till lil.T grows a little older so I can purchase some of the older kids toys so I may test (read:play) with them myself. ;) But until that time, the toys lil.T has been getting from all his aunts, uncles, grandpa and grandmoms have been ones that try to teach him as well as occupy his time. This cool learning station that auntie Karin and uncle Ham gave lil.T for Christmas is suppose to help him get used to standing on his own and develop those leg muscles in preparation for walking. As you can see, he can't quite stand up on his own yet, and is actually just content with playing with the station from the ground level. Everyone has to start somewhere...and as a metaphor for life, he will one day rise to the top. When we help him on his feet, he can stand there on his own pretty well, even moving from one side to the next. I guess it won't be too much longer before he's off and running everywhere. I can't wait to take him out and let him play outside, while capturing some great pictures of him.

Continuing to be a joy...

lil.T (my new net name for Terrence of course) continues to be such a joy. No doubt about it, he's a morning person just like his dad. He's so happy just to be up from his nighttime slumper and he was smiling so cutely that he reminded me I have not yet documented his four pearly whites. Both grandmas loves babies when they do their cheesy grin with the four front teeth showing. I have to admit, everytime I see him do that...I have to go squeeze or hug a body part of some kind. Until you guys can get your hands on him to do the same, be content with the following pictures. :)

Say Cheeeeeeseee!!!237137962

I call this, smiling with the eyes. My favorite feature of a girl when they can do it. Just as cute when a baby does it. Kawaii desu ne?237137968

A more natural smile, still showing those whites237137976

Lost of tender moments like these in the morning. Lil.T gets very affectionate. Sometimes he spots me from across the room and smiles with his eyes to get me to come over. Then he crawls towards me to give me a head bunt. His way of endearment. Melts your heart.237137982

What can I say...too cute with the tongue. He's been sticking it out more lately.237137988

Lastly, here is a nice capture from one of San Diego's hidden treasure. The only suspended foot bridge in town, connecting Spruce St. near downtown San Diego. The local kids call it the wiggly bridge. Denny, Julie, T and I went to seek it out on Thursday and I got this cute shot from there. Will share more as I look through that series.237137948

Bath Time...

Terrence could very well be a fish. I am sure once he gets old enough to swim, he will be just as nimble in the water. Unlike his dad who prefer to stay above water with the only thing touching it is the fishing line. :)

Each time Terrence hears the water running as his mom draws his bath, he gets so happy. We try to keep his bath time short so he doesn't catch a cold, especially now being flu season and all. Now that it's colder, we make sure to turn on the heater as well to make the environment more comfortable. Here are some images from this morning's bath time.

Celebrating Thanksgiving...Black Friday

Our family, meaning my parents and Julie's parents, celebrate Thanksgiving on the weekend instead of the traditional Thursday evening most American family do. This afforded Julie and I the opportunity to catch up on some things as well as spend Black Friday taking Terrence out to enjoy the beautiful fall weather. While most people were out shopping the Black Friday deals, we enjoyed a nice/cheap lunch at Costco and headed over to the hidden Webb Park behind Pearl restaurant in RB.

There, Terrence got to take in the sight and make his typical furrow at all the ducks that wanders around. If you don't know what I mean, Terrence furrow his brow whenever he sees something new and is concentrating/focusing really hard. :D Anyways, the ducks at this park are pretty used to people. Often times, they walk up within arms reach of us. Kinda scary when you're sitting down at eye level with them. Or in Julie's case, standing up at eye level with them. LOL

Terrence was really enjoying himself. He loves to feel new texture and grass is one of those textures he is not quite familiar with yet. Usually after the initial feeling, he has to try and take a bite out of whatever he's touching for the first time. Kindda makes me proud as a father to see his appetite for everything. hahahaha

Awesome clear, blue sky day.224800798

Season changes...Fall colors

Halloween has passed and Thanksgiving is around the corner. Fall is here and things are changing all around us. Even though living in southern California means those changes are not as obvious as the northern and eastern parts of the United States, changes are there if we look. Trees are changing their colors and some are losing their leaves. The air is more brisk in the day and especially at night. Terrence continues to change like the season. As the day grows shorter, Terrence continues to grow bigger. Here is Terrence on Saturday enjoying being outside - touching, feeling and tasting "Fall."

It's for the kids...

Trick or treat...smell my feet...give me something good to eat...how does that go? As we mature (read: get older), we let go of some of our fondest childhood traditions. Well, Halloween is one of those tradition that I have fond memories of and after talking to my friends that night, I am glad we get to relive some of that tradition through our kids. Why else would we dress up our babies in ridiculously cute outfits and drag them from door to door, loading their bags up with candies they are not even suppose to eat quite yet? The answer is, it's one part...for the kids, and two part...for the adults to relive some of those childhood memories and create new ones as a family.

Last night was so much fun. It was not planned, but some of the fun-nest nights are ones that start that way. The BTF family met over at Keo/Kat, Andy and Holly's place where Hung and Lynn brought Kaden to go Trick or Treating. With a group of 12 people, we set out to relive those childhood memories through our kids. Here are some pictures from that night.

Some of the people handling out candies were so friendly. Like this gentlemen. The story behind this photo is that the man was showing Kaden a little pumpkin with a candle inside it. Kaden thought the gentleman was offering the treat so he reached in a grab the unlit candle. Look at the reaction from both moms.216058496

Earlier in the day, Julie took Terrence out to our local shopping center where the stores were giving out treats in celebration of Halloween. She got so many complements on how cute Terrence looked in his fisherman's outfit. This lady is enjoying it just as much as the others. So cute.216058497

Baby sitting...

Mom was out today so I stayed home to babysit Terrence. Denny came over to help and we turned it into a photo session. It was fun and here is a couple we quickly pulled from Denny's Nikon D70s. Not bad for a 6.1MP camera huh?

I don't think I caught many pictures of Terrence in the buff...so we quickly stripped him down for these cute shots. The only thing we're missing are some cute and colorful knitted hats for him to wear. Terrence was loving the photosession in the buff. I think he feels free without any clothes. More pictures to come later...
